This morning I went hunting for some feel-good stories to kick off a new Monday Motivation series. A little lift to fire up the week…

Turns out good news is weirdly hard to find.

The BBC’s “Uplifting Stories” section hasn’t been updated since October. HuffPost’s “Good News Corner” hasn’t moved since 2023. Beyond that, not much at all – especially here in the UK.

It took me back to my time living in the Middle East, driving to work listening to radio bulletins (albeit State-owned) full of positive stories. Kids winning competitions. Someone rescuing a dog. National achievements. Small moments, big impact.

Right now, when everyone feels battered by doom and rain, it’s odd that the positive stuff is what gets buried.

So, I looked elsewhere… Movember is packed with simple, practical reminders about looking after your health every day, not just once a year.

For me – like many – being active is the anchor. A run, the gym, getting outside with the family. It resets the mind and lifts that grey work cloud.

All of this was a reminder of how powerful good news can be when we actually hear it. We shouldn’t have to dig for it.

So I’m going to share more of it. And if you spot anything uplifting, hopeful or heart-warming, send it my way! 🙏

More Monday Motivation coming soon…
